Design
When you’re looking at the Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone, you’ll notice that this phone has an old-school appearance both at the front and back. But first of all, let’s talk about the phone’s measurement. Dimensionally, it has 158.4 x 77.4 x 9mm. And for its weight, it’s 195g.
Then, we will review its appearance. As we’ve discussed before, when we’re looking at the Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone, we are reminiscing about the old smartphone circa 2011 that comes in bulky and big bezels around the screen. Even the front camera placement is old-style.
The back area is also outdated. It’s very minimalist—which is good. But with the vertical camera’s placement with the LED flash, the Bounce logo on the bottom, and the speakers at the left bottom, it’s not aesthetically pleasing.
Display
The display size of the Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone is quite satisfying for us. It’s a 6.0-inch display screen that perfectly fits all the device’s information. Your fingertips will be freely exposed to all the operations.
However, the satisfying feeling is stopped because of the big bezels we’ve mentioned. As a user, you can’t enjoy the cinematic-viewing experience to the finest. For some of us, it’s frustrating and not a great feeling.
Thankfully, the screen quality is still dependable for such a decent screen size. It comes in a 720 x 1440-pixel resolution and HD+ screen quality. With this, you can expect great details and vibrant colors on the screen. The brightness level is also okay; seeing the phone’s screen outside won’t let your eyes hurt at all.
Camera
For some people, the camera becomes the most important thing to be noticed. Unfortunately, you won’t get a great quality camera with the Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone. Either the front or the rear camera doesn’t do its justice.
For the front camera, this phone comes with 5MP quality. Not a decent camera for taking your #SelfieOfTheDay. It would result in blurry and grained pictures. There are also no such beauty filters on this phone. Definitely not built for photogenic moments.
The rear camera on the Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone is also not our favorite. Same as the front one, it only comes with a 5MP quality. Don’t expect to catch some high-detailed pictures and videos with this phone because it doesn’t give you any chance the first time. Thankfully, it’s equipped with an LED flash to help you get brighter pictures while in the dark.
Storage
The Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone gives you 32GB of internal storage. This would be a decent size to store all your pictures. However, this size isn’t enough if you’re a heavy user and often download many apps here.
Even worse, from the 32GB internal space, the actual size you’ll get is only around half that amount. The phone’s system and pre-loaded apps will take a lot of space from your phone.
However, every modern problem requires a modern solution, right? Fortunately, you can overcome this problem by expanding your storage. You must buy an extra MicroSD card and install the card into the external slot.

Performance
The Boost Mobile Bounce performance relies on an Octa-core MediaTek MT6762V/CA. For an entry-level smartphone like this Boost Mobile Bounce, it’s a bare minimum processor setup. Instead of giving you extra-fast performance, it tends to become a more reliable smartphone.
The chipset setup is running quite fast at a 2.0GHz clock rate. This speed rate guarantees more efficient battery use, and even better, it improves your battery performance. In casual usage, you can expect the battery to not drain fast.
The Boost Mobile Bounce’s processor setup is coupled with 3GB RAM. For a budget-friendly smartphone, this processor is very considerate. You can expect optimal performance from this phone while maintaining fast and smooth operations.
Moreover, the 3GB RAM is quite flexible regarding multitasking. It feels easy and smooth to open two or three apps simultaneously. But when it reaches around ten apps opened, the performance will start showing its true colors. Lags will be found here and there. That’s why you must be extra cautious while using the Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone.
The Boost Mobile Bounce is an Android smartphone that uses Android 12 to become its default operating system. For an entry-level smartphone, we’re glad to see this OS installed in this phone because, apparently, Android 12 has some updates equal to what people need nowadays.
For instance, Android 12 has the most personal dynamic capabilities to make your overall experience into your chosen wallpapers. The user interface also has a nice fluidity and is quite responsive. Importantly, the security is more advanced than before.
The Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone has several features, such as the accelerometer and barometer sensors. But, what makes it better is this phone is equipped with a face recognition feature to secure your device better. With this feature, you can also unlock the device easily and safely.
Connectivity
The Boost Mobile Bounce accommodates you with 4G LTE and older bands as the network connectivity. However, we advise you to stick with the 4G LTE one for better, faster, and more stable connectivity. This network also combines the VoLTE feature for more pristine call quality.
Besides the mobile network, this smartphone is also equipped with Wi-Fi technology. This connectivity allows you to stay connected to the internet when you don’t have data connections.
For other connectivity, the Boost Mobile Bounce also has Bluetooth. Bluetooth is known for easy data transfer with other devices. Moreover, it also can connect to other Bluetooth devices most conveniently.
Battery
The major drawbacks of the Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone are its battery aspects. How come a modern smartphone only has 3,000mAh of battery capacity for you? It won’t be enough for you to stay online for the rest of the day.
Even worse, this smartphone is still using the old removable battery type. As you know, nowadays, most smartphones are already equipped with non-removable ones since it’s more durable. So, seeing this old type on the Boost Mobile Bounce is kind of disappointing.
Is the Boost Mobile Bounce a good phone?
The Boost Mobile Bounce smartphone has a so-so quality, whether in its performance or other features. We want to mention the features that we thought were quite okay. It’s the display screen, the face recognition sensor and the performance quality.
And, for the specifications that don’t meet our expectations, such as the low camera and battery capacity, it can be your most consideration. After reading this Boost Mobile Bounce review, think again, ‘Is it worth paying $49.99 for this smartphone?’
Pros: face unlock, adequate screen size, decent performance quality
Cons: low camera quality, low battery capacity
