Wiko Voix Review: Dual Camera With Advanced Security Features

In the Wiko Voix review, we will discover that this smartphone is more than pleasing to the eyes. The features also catch our attention; the dual camera and security features.

Wiko Voix Review

The Wiko Voix smartphone was launched in August 2022. This phone has every feature that is typically found in an entry-level smartphone. The dual camera, a large display screen, Android 12, and two important security features, face recognition and fingerprint.

This smartphone is specifically designed for people who want to always keep up with their daily busy life. If you are one of those people and considering buying a new smartphone. It may work for you.

However, we advise you not to “buy a pig in a poke.” It would be better if you were familiar with the device first. Not only the outside but inside; the system and phone’s performance should also be learned before making a decision. Let’s take a look at this Wiko Voix review.

Design

From a glimpse, the Wiko Voix appearance is very eye-catching. We love the Pantone Grey matte color combined with the diagonal line patterns at the bottom. It radiates a modern yet masculine vibe.

The Wiko Voix phone’s size is proportional, with 167 x 76 x 8.4mm dimensions. An easy and comfortable size to hold with an adult’s hand. The 176g weight also feels right and not bulky at all. Perfect for everyday activity.

The front area is just a typical today’s smartphone. Large screen size, minimum bezels and the home buttons on the screen. The camera also follows the standard by placing it at the top center in a tear-drop design.

Flipping in, the back area is where it got the spotlights. The colors and the patterns are unique–you won’t find them in other smartphones, but importantly it suits modernity. The dual camera is placed aesthetically at the top left in a rectangular shape with an LED flash. A fingerprint reader is also in the center, which is a reachable area.

Display

Wiko Voix Display

The 6.5-inch display screen is featured on the Wiko Voix smartphone. This screen size is quite large for an entry-level smartphone. It could accommodate the users’ daily activities, from scrolling social media, playing games, watching movies, or communicating with others.

The large screen has a 20:9 ratio, giving ample room for users to experience a wide-view phone’s contents and won’t stretch awkwardly. Just a perfect ratio. However, the thicker bezels at the bottom and the tear-drop camera may be uncomfortable for some people.

For the quality, the Wiko Voix has a 720 x 1600 pixels resolution, which means it’s HD+ quality. The phone appeared rich in colors and quite crisp, whether in static or moving contents. Everything also stays in sharps. Watching the video will be much more comfortable without experiencing pixelated icons and images.

Camera

Wiko Voix Camera

The Wiko Voix features a dual camera on the back, 13MP for high-quality pictures and 2MP as an extra depth camera. These setups are a bare minimum in an entry-level smartphone. It doesn’t produce extravagant pictures, but we aren’t complaining. Since we can still capture a beautiful picture with it.

The 2MP depth camera comes for taking pictures with other variations. It is great for a close-up photo with blurred backgrounds. While taking pictures in dark-light situations, the LED flash is a lifesaver. To enhance the picture’s quality, the Wiko Voix provides us with some camera features. Includes the professional mode, the portrait mode, and the beauty mode.

At the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera. Again, it is not the best megapixel but quite decent for practical reasons. Even better, it also has a screen flash to capture any selfies in the dark. Furthermore, recording a 1080p video is also possible with the Wiko Voix. You can even be more creative with a time-lapse feature available on this device.

Storage

Storing the files with a 32GB of internal storage already provided on the Wiko Voix smartphone. Those memory spaces are not bad, but we’ve found compromises. From that written capacity, only around 23GB can be accessed. It is because the remaining spaces are already consumed by system junks and preloaded apps.

However, you can add more space by expanding the external storage. You can buy a MicroSD card, insert the chip into the external phone’s slot, and Voila! The capacity will be more spacious to add more files and applications.

Performance

Wiko Voix Side View

The Wiko Voix is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 M6761 as their processor. It is a recognizable chipset for a budget smartphone that gives users a smooth performance without sacrificing battery capacity. This CPU is a great support for a dual camera. Overall, it is enough to maintain users’ daily activities.

The processor is accompanied by 3GB RAM. It’s a deal since this RAM size is above the minimum for an entry-level smartphone. It could do some basic things very smoothly. Opening two or more apps simultaneously won’t decrease the performance or the multitasking.

But with this RAM you may still find limitations and things will get more tricky when it comes to accessing heavy-consumed apps with this Wiko Voix. Playing 3D games with intense graphics is absolutely not a chance for you.

Next, we will talk about the Wiko Voix software’s side. The Wiko Voix uses the latest Android 12 as its operating system. It must be the standard OS for recent smartphones. As the newest version, Android 12 has several improvements that would make your work and daily activity much easier than ever.

With Android 12, users can experience more personal preferences in much better environments and advanced security ecosystems. The user interface becomes more responsive, and you have full control over managing privacy with this device.

The Wiko Voix security sensors rely on two most useful features; fingerprint reader and face recognition. These two features allow you to easily unlock the device without typing a passcode. But the face recognition features may be hard to use in dark light situations. Still and all, it is still more convenient and provides extra security for your device.

Connectivity

Wiko Voix still provides 4G LTE connectivity as their main network. Not 5G, but we’re satisfied with this network band since it still has wide coverage, even in a remote area. To use this network and get in touch with others, you need to install a SIM card into the device. To be added, you can also enjoy an internet connection without your mobile data with Wi-Fi connectivity.

The other connectivity available on the Wiko Voix is Bluetooth and USB Type-C. You can transfer files or connect with Bluetooth devices such as earphones and speakers. Meanwhile, with the USB Type-C, you can transfer files and connect the device to a computer.

Battery

The Wiko Voix runs on a 3,400mAh non-removable battery capacity. This size is a little bit small for a smartphone with these specifications. However, this phone claim would last until the end of the day. It said it can last up to 29 hours of talk time and 42 days of standby time. While in fact, the actual battery usage can vary for each user.

Moreover, the Wiko Voix is equipped with the Battery Saver mode to optimize device performance, so it can last longer than the average. The charging speed is also a bare minimum. It takes around 200 minutes to charge between zero and 100%.

Verdict

After we tried the Wiko Voix, we concluded that this smartphone has its own selling points. For $126, this device aims at an entry-level target market who needs a smartphone to support their daily life. No spectacular feature is needed. However, their modern design, the Android 12, and dual camera are catching the attention.

We just noticed a few drawbacks of the Wiko Voix smartphone. Like the CPU performance, that is just enough for basic amenities, and the battery capacity is below our expectations. But overall, it’s quite a deal!

Wiko Voix Pros:

  • Modern design
  • Android 12
  • Dual camera

Wiko Voix Cons:

  • Basic performance
  • Low battery capacity

Alternatives

As usual, we will give you two alternatives – just in case the Wiko Voix doesn’t suit your needs. The first alternative is the T-Mobile REVVL V. This smartphone has a lower price and larger battery capacity than the Wiko Voix. It is also already provided with a fast charging feature. But it still has Android 11 as its OS.

Last but not least is the Boost Celeron 5G. This phone’s price is far lower than the two other smartphones. It already uses 5G connectivity as its main network and has a fast charging feature.
