Design
Despite its big size, T-Mobile REVVL 4 feels light on the hands due to its small 158.5g size. The phone itself has a dimension of 159 x 75.9 x 8.1mm. It’s quite big since it holds a 6.2-inch screen.
The design of the phone is rather common. Nothing special but we noticed something interesting. At a glance, the notch looks like it disappears. The front camera seems to be blending in nicely with the screen.
The front area hosts mostly the screen. We like how the bezels are almost disguised, just like the notch. The screen-to-body ratio is almost 80% so no space is getting wasted.
The back cover comes in a graphite gray color which is more matte than glossy. Here, it’s where you can find the fingerprint sensor and the camera. The button placement is also nothing uncommon. The volume keys and the Power key are by the right side of the phone.
Furthermore, build quality is just average. Made from plastic, this material doesn’t make the phone particularly though. It will need a case to protect from drops and damages.

Display
T-Mobile REVVL 4’s selling point seems to be its expansive 6.2-inch screen. It has a resolution of 1520 x 720, which means customers will get an HD+ screen. But overall, it’s the size that’s important.
That’s because display quality seems to be an afterthought here. At 270ppi pixel density, you can easily find a better phone with a sharper display out there. An HD+ screen, by today’s standard, is just average.
It further translates into poor brightness and sharpness, especially under the sun. Although rough icons and texts are hard to spot, it still shows whenever you zoom texts on a website, for example.
Taking the quality out of the equation, the size is a delight. It is your reliable canvas to work with apps daily. Multitasking and app-stacking don’t feel limited. And you can watch movies with full screen and enjoy the immersive visual experience.
If this phone aims at entry-level customers with not much prior experience with smartphones, perhaps it’s decent enough quality. On the other hand, it will be like a downgrade for users who have ever tasted better displays. In the end, the display quality is merely a compromise of the phone’s budget status.
Camera
The camera on T-Mobile REVVL 4 consists of a 13MP single rear camera and a front camera at 5MP. Apart from lenses, an LED flash is present beside the rear camera.
You can see immediately that no dual-camera is present on T-Mobile REVVL 4. It’s disappointing for mobile photography fans. If you’d like to have the option of a dual or triple camera, this phone is not for you.
In our opinion, there are other phones within a similar price range that offer better, and more cameras. For customers who put photo-taking as a priority, those choices are better.
This is a phone aimed at customers with no special regard for photography. The quality too is not something to be excited about. It works properly to take pictures and record videos. However, you can expect a lot of drawbacks when you demand less over-exposure, more sharpness and details, and just overall better quality.
The front-facing camera, at 5MP, won’t give you the most compelling selfies. Once again, it seems like T-Mobile REVVL 4 doesn’t put its best here. Results are terrible under lowlights. You need to pay attention to lighting when doing a video call.

Storage
Coming up with 32GB of memory, the internal storage is an average capacity. Consumers deserve this size because it’s practically a minimum. Out of that 32GB space, you would be left with 24GB that’s available to use.
The external storage option is where the phone shines a bit brighter. You can add more space with an up to 256GB SD card. However, it means more money out of the pocket. Some consumers won’t be a fan of it.
If you decide to stick with the internal storage, you will need to be careful on storing large files. Regularly cleaning cache files is another trick you can do to preserve storage space.
Performance
T-Mobile REVVL 4 runs on a 2GHz MediaTek Helio A22. This Quad-core processor also comes with an integrated GPU, PowerVR GE8300. On the memory side, the phone works with 2GB of RAM. For the operating system, the manufacturer strapped this device with Android version 10.
The CPU and RAM show another average setup choice by the manufacturer. You can’t expect more than a performance fits for day-to-day casual use. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, just remember to keep the expectation low.
This phone is quick when opening apps, switching screens and doing other basic tasks. The screen size makes navigation even more comfortable. There’s a bit of lag when using the Camera app. Sometimes lags can also happen during a rigorous use of the phone.
Mobile games, for example, are the Achilles’ heels of this phone. Some titles can’t even launch as the app crashed when opening. There were also some delays on YouTube streaming. All in all, know the phone’s limit if consumers would like to keep performance nice and smooth.
The Android 10 on this phone comes in a vanilla version. So the manufacturer didn’t overlay it with their custom skin. However, the theme is in dark mode by default. Not everyone is a fan of dark mode since it can make everything harder to read.
There are also some other inconveniences present. An example, the Android on T-Mobile REVVL 4 doesn’t come with a native Gallery app. Instead, you’ll need to use Google Photos. Again, not everybody likes this idea.
The security, on the other hand, doesn’t disappoint us. You can pick between the fingerprint sensor and face unlock. We recommend using the former since it’s faster. The performance was hit and miss when unlocking the phone using the face recognition method.
There are so many limitations this phone has in terms of performance. Some people may be okay making compromises, but others may not. In this T-Mobile REVVL 4 review, we presented a fair analysis so you can make your own decision.
Connectivity
T-Mobile REVVL 4 is a 4G capable phone. With a Nano-SIM attached, this device can take advantage of the fast LTE and HSPA+ network speed. It’s a phone that spoils internet lovers out there. Whether it’s casual browsing or high-speed gaming, the 4G support here provides no problem most of the time.
The call quality is good too. VoLTE helps callers get better quality audio. Furthermore, Wi-Fi is another option if you don’t feel like using mobile data. And there’s also Bluetooth for pairing wireless accessories. You may enjoy the latest version which allows you to connect to a device located more than 10 meters.
We checked the GPS and it worked quickly when determining location. Another good news, this phone utilizes the newest USB Type-C. It’s faster and the dongle can be inserted in two ways.
Battery
T-Mobile REVVL 4 has a 3,500mAh non-removable battery. In hindsight, you may think it’s too small and you are not wrong. We thought the same too.
These days, manufacturers try to come up with a power-efficient phone. Therefore, they can save costs by installing a battery that’s not too big.
However, performance is actually better than expected. T-Mobile REVVL 4’s battery claims 19 hours of talk time on a single charge. That shows how the battery is long-lasting enough even though it’s not over 5,000mAh cells. If left on standby, the phone can reach 26.5 days without any charging.
Is the T-Mobile REVVL 4 a good phone?
T-Mobile REVVL 4 is a decent phone although it doesn’t offer any standout feature. This time, T-Mobile REVVL 4 review comes out as mixed. At $120 a unit, this phone seems overpriced. Although if you want to somewhat pay less, buyers can use the T-Mobile installment plan at $5 a month.
To summarize the highlights of this phone, there is a big display, fingerprint sensor, and long-lasting battery. However, the camera is disappointing. The display quality is also only HD+.
If we can conclude, it would take a special circumstance for a consumer to pick this phone over competitors. Because we think there are better options out there. Often, they come at a cheaper price too.
