Design

Coolpad Legacy Brisa
Coolpad Legacy Brisa

Coolpad Legacy Brisa is a modern-looking phone with a dimension of 165.6 x 76.5 x 8.6mm. It’s long, quite big, but slim at its width. The design features a Full Screen and a large percentage of screen-to-body ratio (82.67%). It has a notch at the top, with the bottom chin is larger than the other sides.

This device is good-looking. At the first impression, you could mistake Coolpad Legacy Brisa as more expensive than it actually is. Weighing at 190g, this phone is also quite weighty, despite it only employing plastic as the material.

The back cover design is also one of a kind. The casing features a metallic silver color with a glossy finish. In the middle, you can see an oblong shape housing the dual-camera and the fingerprint sensor. The convex shape is also a genius choice of design. It protects the camera from bumping into a surface when the phone is put down.

The protection doesn’t end here. If you notice the glossy finish, it is caused by a Gorilla Glass 3 coating. Coolpad Legacy Brisa is literally scratch-resistant. It’s not just the screen but the whole body.

Coolpad Legacy Brisa exceeded our expectations in both aesthetic and build quality. Especially at a low price, having a both strong and beautiful phone is a great perk.

Display

Coolpad Legacy Brisa Display

Coolpad Legacy Brisa comes with a 6.5-inch LCD display that’s not only impressed us for its size. It also has a Full HD resolution (2340 x 1080), a high screen-to-body ratio, and scratch-resistant glass.

Let’s start with the size. A 6.5-inch, this display provides expansive viewing space for both entertainment and everyday use. This is the biggest display you can get on a smartphone today. The screen also comes with few distractions from the bezels, allowing an immersive viewing experience.

The display quality, at Full HD, is actually quite rare on budget phones. Therefore, this quality can feel like a huge bonus on a phone like Coolpad Legacy Brisa. You will experience better color accuracy, sharper image, and little to no bad pixels. It is still not an AMOLED screen, but we can say a Full HD screen is already perfect.

The phone fares better when used under the sad. The display also has a wide viewing angle. On top of that, the surface is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, making it resistant to everyday scratches.

Camera

Coolpad Legacy Brisa Camera

Coolpad Legacy Brisa features a dual-camera setup with great megapixels. The main camera is a 16MP shooter with autofocus, while the assisting second camera has a 5MP depth lens. The front-camera, at 16MP, also promises great photos.

This camera setup is far from a pro, but it would satisfy any mobile photo enthusiasts just fine. The main camera also comes with interesting capabilities, like Burst Shot, Panoramic, and AI. Additionally, the depth lens allows you to take a true bokeh photo. So, no more fake blurred background generated by the software.

Image results are average, but it’s not hugely disappointing. The camera can take decent photos especially when the lighting situation is perfect. You may turn on the LED flash for night photography. And for video recording, you can record Full HD videos.

The front camera is what we like more. At 16MP, this lens promises picture-perfect selfies in any condition. Selfies too, must be of a high quality. That can be possible with Coolpad Legacy Brisa’s front-facing camera.

Storage

With a 32GB internal storage space, Coolpad Legacy Brisa provides an adequate amount to get started with. This storage space is just average. There is enough room to install apps and store some personal files. After a while, an SD card will become an inevitable need.

The SD card slot on Coolpad Legacy Brisa can handle up to 128GB in capacity. This is where we recommend users to store their big files. There is plenty of space here and you can prioritize the internal storage for something else. Especially for data that isn’t allowed to be stored in expandable storage.

Performance

Coolpad Legacy Brisa Side

Running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 coupled with 3GB RAM, Coolpad Legacy Brisa promises reliable performance on a wide range of tasks. This is the phone you’d buy if you want more than just a casual phone browsing. The CPU is a 2GHz Octa-core chipset. It’s not necessarily the fastest in the market, but for an entry-level phone, it is better than its peers.

Snapdragon 665 has plenty of special capabilities. One of them is Face Unlock. This AI technology recognizes facial features better and faster so your phone has improved security. Unfortunately, Coolpad Legacy Brisa doesn’t make the most out of some technological support, like the triple-camera.

Day-to-day performance on this phone is remarkably smooth and responsive, thanks to the CPU. Coupled with the RAM, which capacity is also above average, the setup makes multitasking a breeze. You will rarely notice the minuscule delays when launching an app. Most of the time, this phone is quite fast.

The Snapdragon 665 chipset also comes with a gaming-capable GPU, Adreno 10. It promises ultra-fast frame-rates and realistic graphics. However, the best setting would still be in the medium to high range. Ultra settings are still reserved for flagships.

This phone’s main selling point is its status as an entertainment device. Apart from being a decent phone for gaming, it also focuses on immersive multimedia experience. Coolpad Legacy Brisa attached the HDR feature by Pixelworks to improve video and gaming output. For audio, the phone get a boost from THX Spatial Audio. This one enhances sound output for headphones.

For its operating system, Coolpad Legacy Brisa uses Android 10. Coming with no modifications, the user interface is clean and straightforward. For beginners, it’s also easy to learn. For security, you get a combo of fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock with Coolpad Legacy Brisa. This phone is also well-equipped with hearing aid support and an accelerometer.

Connectivity

Coolpad Legacy Brisa supports a wide range of network bands, from 2G to 4G LTE. For calls, you can enable VoLTE for even clearer sound. The CPU Snapdragon 610 actually has an improved signal receiver, which results in stronger signal reception. Wi-Fi is also available with additional supports like mobile hotspots. You can connect up to 8 devices to Coolpad Legacy Brisa.

Bluetooth on Coolpad Legacy Brisa doesn’t only come with its latest version. Audio channeling using Bluetooth will get a boost by Tempow enhanced audio technology. No more complaining about the music sounding bad on wireless. Because Bluetooth on Coolpad Legacy Brisa is offering quality close to a wired connection.

Other than that, Coolpad Legacy Brisa also equips itself with GPS (GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, Galileo) and USB Type-C. As one more bonus, this phone also supports OTG. You can instantly read a flash drive on your phone.

All in all, we are not complaining. Coolpad Legacy Brisa’s connectivity setup is already as good as it gets.

Battery

For the battery, Coolpad Legacy Brisa installed non-removable 4,000mAh cells. This phone continues to impress us up to this point. The 4,000mAh capacity is considered to be huge. Enough to handle 21 hours of talk time, this battery can also last a day for entertainment use. Meanwhile, its standby time is 622 Hours.

Charging time is 2.5 hours, so it’s pretty quick for a big-sized battery. The secret lies in Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, which the CPU of this phone supports. Coolpad Legacy Brisa makes sure you stay on top of your game every day by providing a battery with many perks. Even if you need to recharge multiple times, the quick charging will help you save time.

Is the Coolpad Legacy Brisa a good phone?

After this lengthy Coolpad Legacy Brisa review, there are only a few we don’t like about this phone. Among them are the storage, which in our opinion, could be larger. We also consider the camera average.

Other than that, this is a great phone to buy. It is reasonably priced at $79.99. Even more, this price looks very cheap compared to what you get. Coolpad Legacy Brisa offers a Full HD display at 6.5-inch, a Snapdragon processor with Quick Charge 3.0, and a casing protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Small extra perks are also something not to overlook as they greatly enhance your phone use. Pixelworks HDR, THX Spatial Audio, and enhanced Bluetooth audio give you better multimedia experience.
