AT&T Maestro Max review presents us with a great camera phone but at a cheap price. This phone also has a decently fast 2GHz processor and big RAM.

ATT Maestro Max Review

The AT&T Maestro Max smartphone was released in 2021. This model is considered budget-friendly. However, buying a budget electronic device still takes considerable effort.

This AT&T Maestro Max smartphone seems to be promising. At first glance, it’s a solid piece of technology that’s capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously.

All this is thanks to the 2GHz processor, 3GB RAM, and a decent battery. On top of that, you’ll also get a triple camera. For a phone under $100, a triple-camera is a real deal.

Check out this AT&T Maestro Max (EA1002) review to help you make a confident choice when buying this device. To get the best out of your smartphone, it’s crucial to do your research. Hopefully, we can help you here.

Design

ATT Maestro Max
ATT Maestro Max

The AT&T Maestro Max features a solid body with a measurement of 176 x 7.9 x 0.89mm. Only available in black, the device is relatively long compared to other phones. However, despite its massive size, we noticed that the smartphone is pretty on the lighter side, thanks to its slimness and only 196g weight.

On the front side, there’s the display screen surrounded by rounded bezels. Inspired by modern-day phones, the bezels don’t take too much space. Right above the screen, you can see that the front camera is placed on a teardrop notch.

Moving onto the backside, the device takes a more minimalist approach with its features. The three rear cameras, along with the flash, are placed in a square frame. These items are located right in the middle. Considering that most cameras are placed on the top corners, this design looks unique. You can also find the fingerprint scanner right below the cameras.

AT&T Maestro Max has all the essential buttons located on the right side. Other items like charging ports, speakers, headset jack, and microphone, lie on the bottom of the phone. Overall, the design is quite sleek and modern. All while being practical and functional. It doesn’t look cheap and we especially love the glossy finish.

Display

ATT Maestro Max Display

The AT&T Maestro Max has a 6.82-inch display screen. It stretches to almost the entire screen. As previously mentioned, the smartphone comes with bezels, but they are pretty thin. With the smartphone’s relatively large display screen, users will get plenty of space to navigate the device freely.

And with a size that big, users will have an easier time with touchscreen. There’s ample room to move your fingers around and utilize touch screen gestures. Everything is easy to read. So not only is the large size appealing to users, but it also becomes accessible for specific demographics.

The display screen also features High-Definition, giving users crisp quality at 1640 x 720. As a result, you can enjoy watching videos with sharp resolutions. Just make sure you know that it’s an HD screen. It’s still relatively average and won’t give you an ultra HD experience.

The problem with most cheap display screens is not just the quality. They may also have weak build quality. Luckily, the AT&T Maestro Max comes with scratch-resistant glass. Although, we would highly recommend getting extra protection like tempered glass for the screen, just in case.

Camera

ATT Maestro Max Camera

The AT&T Maestro Max provides a fun photography experience thanks to its 13MP rear camera and its friends. Here, you’ll also get a 5MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth lens. There’s an 8MP selfie camera too and an LED flash.

Surprisingly, a phone at this price comes with a triple camera and good megapixels. While we applaud that, resolutions are not the only thing determining whether a camera is good or not. Especially these days when multiple cameras are just gimmicks.

As we mentioned earlier, besides the 13MP Standard Rear camera, the AT&T Maestro Max also has two other kinds of rear lenses. The 5MP wide-angle lens is useful to take panoramic shots. We also have the 2MP depth lens, which is suitable for close-up.

Quality is good but not breathtaking. It’s good for social media and beyond, but when it comes to printing, you may still need professional cameras. Moving away from megapixels, the AT&T Maestro Max has endless photography modes you can experiment with. These modes can help enhance the photo quality.

We’re not just talking about the standard Portrait mode that’s commonly available. Instead, there are several modes like Night, Beauty, Slow-motion, and Time-lapse users can play around with.

For selfie enthusiasts, you can use the 8MP Front Camera. It’s one thing that the rear camera has high megapixels. But for the front camera to have the same high megapixels, is quite impressive.

Storage

The AT&T Maestro Max has decent internal storage of 32GB. This memory capacity is large enough to store files, images, and videos of different sizes. However, you will need to be aware that system and pre-installed apps may end up taking away some of that space.

But fortunately, the smartphone allows us to expand our memory. This is because the device comes with a MicroSD slot that lets us increase the capacity. The smartphone has room for up to 128GB in external space. However, the external microSD doesn’t come with the device. Therefore, you can only buy it separately.

Performance

ATT Maestro Max Right Side

The AT&T Maestro Max is powered by a Quad-core, MediaTek Helio A22 MT6761 processor. This kind of firmware is designed mainly for mainstream budget devices. However, this processor allows you to have multiple cameras as well. The RAM is 3GB, which is quite massive for a budget phone.

Running on a 2.0GHz speed, the CPU is a reliable chipset that powers phones decently. It might not have significant features that leave us amazed. But for a phone of this level, it’s fast enough to keep the device going every day. Just don’t expect ultra-fast processing speeds.

The AT&T Maestro Max review wouldn’t be complete without talking about the phone’s 3GB RAM. Since it plays a crucial part in the device, the 3GB number is quite important. A RAM is where all the temporary data from running apps gets stored during usage. The more you have, the more apps you can run at once.

Again, it’s rare for budget phones to have 3GB of RAM. More than likely, we often see 2GB at the very most. 3GB is above average, but we would recommend clearing cache now and then as well. After all, maintenance is the key to keep the phone from being laggy.

Let’s move onto the smartphone’s Android 11 Operating System (OS). Android has been very versatile with its OS. With every upgrade, Android always comes with exciting improvements. Android 11 is no different.

Smartphone users can expect a power button menu that’s even more useful. Additionally, we found that it has better permission settings compared to before. It’s always a nice thought that the new OS has considered the value of privacy.

The interface itself is being kept simple. Not much modification is happening. The manufacturer decided to keep the UI vanilla. As a result, it’s not confusing for users who migrate from other Android phones. Everything will look familiar.

The AT&T Maestro Max has a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. This scanner helps you secure the phone and to provides easier access when opening the device. You can leave the traditional pressing of our power button to lock or unlock the phone.

Connectivity

The AT&T Maestro Max can be connected through 4G LTE network technology. At this rate, you can get good signals from anywhere since this network is the most widely available. Don’t forget to insert a Nano SIM card into the device. That’s the type of SIM card accepted on this phone.

For those who aren’t into using a data connection, you don’t need to worry. The device lets us stay connected through its Wi-Fi features. You can also use additional features such as Mobile Hotspot and Wi-Fi direct. This phone also allows you to use VPN.

Additionally, the device comes with a Bluetooth feature. With this available, you can use wireless external gadgets, such as earphones or speakers. Lastly, AT&T Maestro Max also has GPS for navigation and location discovery.

Battery

The AT&T Maestro Max is powered by a 3,900mAh battery. Users can use the device for up to 18 hours of talk time. That’s basically up to 53 days when left on standby. In addition, the battery is a non-removable one.

This capacity and performance are quite generic. Real-life usage indicates one full day of durability before you have to charge. That’s a good number for a phone with a big energy-demanding display.

However, charging time can take quite a while. So anyone planning to go out with this phone should have this fully charged. Unfortunately, this phone doesn’t accommodate wireless charging. There’s also no fast charging.

Is the AT&T Maestro Max a good phone?

Selling at a retail price point of $79, AT&T Maestro Max sounds too good to be true for a phone offering a triple camera. This phone also has a large RAM and a fingerprint reader.

In our AT&T Maestro Max review, we can confirm that these features give great value for money. For anyone who’s looking to get a decently performing device, this one is worth considering. Especially if you like playing around with many cameras.

Some weaknesses are worth noting. One of them includes the device’s low-performance nature. As a result, AT&T Maestro Max is not suitable for gaming lovers or anyone planning to do any other intense phone operation.
