Design

SKY Elite E55

By looking at it, you can tell that this SKY Elite E55 smartphone is smaller than the most current smartphone. The measurement of this smartphone is 151.4mm in height, 72.3mm for its length, and 10mm for its width. Those are making the device feel quite bulky and mini.

The SKY Elite E55 front design still emphasizes the old look, with the screen surrounded by huge bezels, especially at the top and bottom parts. The front camera and an LED flash are applied at the right of the top bezels.

Meanwhile, when you are flipping to the back area, you can see the modern look of it. It can be seen on its rear camera, which comes in a placement similar to most of today’s smartphones. However, the big SKY logo and the phone’s speakers feel weird since we rarely see that design nowadays.

Display

SKY Elite E55 Front Back

The SKY Elite E55 has a small dimension, and it also impacts its display screen. A 5.45-inch display screen is a bare minimum, especially for an entry-level smartphone. But, the only problem is, with the huge bezels we’ve mentioned above, it takes so much space for us to enjoy all the features on the display.

Not only is it limited to our fingers, but we also can’t have a maximum experience with a wide view when it comes to watching videos or playing games. Typing a long-text paragraph also feels annoying because of these bezels.

Even worse, this display screen only has a 480 x 960-pixel resolution. It means you only can have a FWVGA quality. Say hello to some blurred and pixelated content that you will find on this SKY Elite E55 smartphone.

Camera

The SKY Elite E55 smartphone is installed with a single rear camera—yes, don’t be fooled by the camera’s placement on the back of the phone. Even though it looks like there are two cameras, it only has one. To make it worse, the quality itself isn’t good at all.

The single rear camera is only equipped with an 8MP camera quality. It’s like a bare minimum for today’s smartphone, though. And, of course, it’s only enough for practical use. Thankfully, it comes with an LED flash to help you get a brighter picture while taking content in the dark light.

The front camera itself doesn’t do any justice. It only has a 2MP quality, which is far below the average. You still can take selfie pictures with this, but it’s just like that, nothing special for this except for their generous thoughts on the LED flash.

Storage

SKY Elite E55 Side View

16GB of internal storage is supported for the SKY Elite E55 smartphone to store all your personal files and installed apps. Again, it’s the bare minimum. Actually, we don’t expect a higher capacity for this budget-friendly smartphone. So, it is what it is.

However, the 16GB capacity isn’t the size you will get for the SKY Elite E5. After all the system files and default apps, it is only reserved for you at 12GB.

Like any smartphone, you can overcome this problem by adding a MicroSD card to the SKY Elite E5. We don’t know how much maximum external card size you can install on this phone, but at least you can still have a spacious room for your other files.

Performance

The SKY Elite E5 smartphone is supported by a 1.4GHz Quad-core as the CPU rate, but we don’t have any specific processor specs. But, in our review’s experience, this CPU rate is not as good as we expected.

The CPU specs are too low for our liking—and for the phone’s performance, it’s also too slow. It takes some time to launch and operate some apps.

A 2GB RAM (Random Access Memory) also doesn’t support performance. It’s only a bare minimum for an entry-level smartphone. You can’t multitask with this RAM size. If you’re stacking the apps, it will make your SKY Elite E5 smartphone’s performance decrease.

With this RAM size, you will also be limited to heavy apps like playing high-intense games and accessing e-commerce. So, please use your smartphone wisely.

The SKY Elite E5 smartphone is installed with Android 10 Go Edition as the operating system. This operating system’s version is very outdated, and there is nothing good about this. You can’t enjoy a lot of advanced features with this version.

What makes it worse is that Android 10 comes up with the Go Edition for those unfamiliar. The Go Edition was built for a budget-friendly smartphone that can’t support high-intensity operations. It makes all the operations more lightweight and accessible without too much effort.

Unfortunately, as a drawback, the SKY Elite E5 smartphone doesn’t come with security sensors. , we all need to make our phones safe and sound like the fingerprint reader or face recognition.

Connectivity

The SKY Elite E5 network is based on the 4G LTE connectivity. It’s a dependable connection because it provides a decently fast and balanced internet network. For calling purposes, this smartphone will deliver a crystal clear quality.

Besides, the SKY Elite E5 smartphone has Wi-Fi connectivity as an alternative network when you aren’t connected to your mobile network. Bluetooth also lets you share any files with other devices.

Surprisingly, the SKY Elite E5 smartphone has an NFC (Near-Field Communication). This built-in feature is an added point for a budget-friendly smartphone because we rarely see it in the other entry-level smartphone.

Battery

In this last section of the review, we’ll talk about the SKY Elite E5’s battery. This aspect disappoints us because it only has a 2,000mAh battery capacity. This size is far below our expectations because it isn’t even near the bare minimum.

Honest advice: don’t set your expectations to hope the SKY Elite E5’s battery can last until the end of the day because it won’t. So, to make you feel good enough with the battery, use it wisely.

The removable battery type may not be familiar right now. But this type of battery has an advantage. When the battery starts showing errors, you can immediately grab the new one and change it into your phone. Easy peasy.

Is the SKY Elite E55 a good phone?

We can’t determine whether the SKY Elite E5 is a good phone. For those looking for a cheap smartphone, this device only costs $59, which is affordable. But the features inside the device aren’t as good as we hoped. This smartphone has many drawbacks, and you need to decide by yourself; are you okay with all of those?

Pros: affordable, NFC feature

Cons: low battery, low camera quality, low display screen quality
