Nokia C5 Endi Review

Nokia C5 Endi smartphone was released in June 2020. This phone is pretty unique at first sight. Coming from Nokia, we’re not entirely surprised.

This phone has a very sturdy and futuristic looking typical of Nokia. It’s an Android phone and comes in a notch design. Nokia C5 Endi aims for low to mid-range customers, hence the affordable price.

Nokia C5 Endi offers a large display at 6.5-inch. It is powered by a 2GHz Quad-core processor with 3GB RAM. The phone also comes with a triple-camera, a fingerprint sensor, and other perks that are popular today.

Overall this product seems promising. Here is the Nokia C5 Endi review to get more information about the phone spec. Find out the details you need before deciding to buy.

Design

Nokia C5 Endi

Nokia C5 Endi design looks like something coming straight out of a sci-fi movie. Before moving further, here’s the dimension of the phone: 171.7 x 76.7 x 8.9 mm. This device is also surprisingly on the heavier side at 200g.

It comes in a deep blue color that resembles the night sky. It looks like Nokia puts a lot of thought into the design. When carrying the phone, you can be sure your friends would ask about it. We think it’s very attractive despite the body being made from just plastic.

We’re also a fan of the back cover design. Nokia opted for a circular frame for housing the phone’s triple camera. The Nokia logo is proudly displayed in the middle, just below the fingerprint reader. It’s an elegant back design all over.

There are three buttons instead of two (the Volume and Power keys.) The third button is for activating the Google Assistant, which comes in handy if you use this feature a lot.

The front area, which houses the display, comes in a waterdrop notch design typical of many phones today. It’s not exactly an edge-to-edge design but it looks spacious anyway. The Nokia logo on the bottom gives a nice final touch to the overall design. Nokia might not be as big as it used to be, but it’s still a legendary brand worth showing off.

Display

Nokia C5 Endi Display

The display on Nokia C5 Endi is a 6.5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720. It’s an HD+ screen. And based on the resolution above, you can already see how long the display is.

Nokia C5 Endi’s display has an aspect ratio of 19:9. The length is twice more than the width, which users might find odd at the beginning. It’s a perfect size for watching movies on widescreen. However, it also comes with a downside. People who have short thumbs will struggle to reach the top of the screen, such as when pulling the Quick setting menu.

Don’t get us wrong, the size is amazing. At 6.5-inch, it’s gigantic and provides ample space to play around. Users get one extra row of icons on the App screen. There’s still plenty of space for two stacked apps and the keyboard. Therefore, multitasking is comfortable on this phone.

The display quality would be better if it’s a Full HD. Alas, we can’t ask for more since Nokia C5 Endi is already being generous. If you are upgrading from a lower quality display, you’ll be delighted at how crisp and sharp the display is. However, the same can’t be said if you’re downgrading.

But overall, we got a bigger display compared to other phones within the same class. It gives a relatively great viewing experience already even though it’s no AMOLED screen.

Camera

Nokia C5 Endi Camera

The camera setup on Nokia C5 Endi consists of a 13MP rear camera and LED flash. Then there are two additional lenses, a 5MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. On the other side, an 8MP front-facing camera is located just above the display.

These days, a dual-camera is kind of common. That’s why a triple-camera setup like this phone stands out from the crowd. The addition of a macro lens allows you to take a photo of small objects in detail. Flowers and texture of food are among common objects to be photographed with the Macro mode.

Let’s talk about the main camera. At 13MP, the lens delivers photos with a quite accurate color representation. It’s still hit and miss with exposure. A white background looks brighter than it should be. Under artificial lighting, the camera doesn’t perform its best but still produces good photos.

The depth effect in portrait mode pictures looks natural enough. Autofocus works accurately most of the time. Although it experienced some delay when recording videos. For videos, this phone can produce 1080p results.

The 8MP front camera is one of our favorites in this Nokia C5 Endi review. It is snappy and produces great photos. The quality is above average and with minimal noise under the perfect lighting condition. All thanks to a higher resolution the lens has.

Storage

Nokia C5 Endi provides 64GB internal storage for its users. With this ample capacity, you can install as many apps you want on the phone. It will be quite a while until space runs out.

This is another part of the Nokia C5 Endi that’s above average. We saw in other budget phones, 32GB is the top you can get for internal storage. If you’re being frugal with space, you might not even need additional external storage here.

But even if you do, this phone allows you to add a microSD card with up to 128GB in capacity. This device caters to users who like to put large files on their phones too.

Performance

Nokia C5 Endi Side

Nokia C5 Endi is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor and 3GB RAM. The clock speed of the CPU can reach 2GHz at its most optimal performance. It’s an all-around decent setup for a budget phone.

This performance spec allows the phone to handle its gigantic screen and 4G connectivity. This phone is designed for entertainment, therefore its CPU should withstand hours of video streaming without lags. And this phone delivers that flawlessly.

For everyday tasks, the 2GHz CPU proves to be capable. Apps launch in no time. You can open many apps in the background and switch between one another smoothly, thanks to the bigger-than-average RAM. More data processing increases efficiency.

Nokia C5 Endi is a phone you can use beyond just basic tasks. If you feel more adventurous and want to try advanced photo editing, for example, you can do it here. The same can be said for mid-range mobile games. The phone allows users to get more creative without sacrificing performance.

Additionally, in the hardware section, this phone also comes with sensors. There’s an accelerometer, which can be useful for games. There are compass/gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, and Proximity sensor. Let’s also not forget the fingerprint sensor.

The fingerprint sensor is the one users would use the most. A fingerprint reader has increasingly become common in affordable phones, and we’re glad it’s here too. It registers your fingerprint and unlocks quickly. We found it responsive most of the time.

For its software, this device relies on Android 10. Nokia didn’t make any modifications to it, except for the icon appearance. A slight modification that gives Nokia C5 Endi its unique looks.

The software is as important as the hardware when influencing the performance. Lighter Android means no necessary resources are wasted on gimmicks. You won’t have a problem with that on Nokia C5 Endi. You can expect a clean Android experience, all while enjoying the features and enhancement this version offers.

Connectivity

Nokia C5 Endi supports 4G LTE for uninterrupted callings and fast data transfer via the internet. It’s not a 5G phone, unfortunately, but you can’t ask that on a phone under $100. Besides, at this time 4G is fast enough for daily use.

When Wi-Fi signals are available, you can switch to Wi-Fi and enjoy fast internet with less battery consumption. Bluetooth is available for when you want to use your wireless earbud. The port for USB on this phone uses the Type-C kind which is faster and newer. This phone also supports screen mirroring using wireless screen share.

GPS is quick and accurate when pointing a location on Google Maps. The big screen also helps for easy navigation. Interestingly, this phone still supports some analog network features like the FM radio. You can also find a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom of the phone.

Battery

With its 4,000mAh battery, Nokia C5 Endi promises a 2-day run before you need to recharge. This could be possible due to the fact of the battery’s large capacity, combined with efficient CPU and OS. However, we advise keeping your expectations low.

Technically it’s possible, as long as users don’t binge-watch on their phone for hours. However, most users are quite active on their phones, meaning we can only hope it still has enough juice by the end of the day. For that, the phone can easily achieve that.

There’s no fast charging feature on this phone. It takes a couple of hours for the battery to be fully charged. We think it’s just an average charging duration.

Is the Nokia C5 Endi a good phone?

Nokia C5 Endi is a phone to strongly consider. At $99.99, the price is also attractive. We think that the big screen, triple camera, and the 3GB RAM is worth the price. We might be biased, but the beautiful design and the Nokia brand name also add good points.

If you like all the fancy features this phone offers, go for it. There are several downsides to note, such as the fact this phone isn’t 5G yet. Its screen quality is only HD+ and could be better. But overall, in this Nokia C5 Endi review, we found the cons to be very minimal when compared to the good stuff.

  • 64GB internal storage
