LG K92 5G

LG K92 5G features a design that looks a bit unusual in 2020 phones. First, here’s the dimension. This phone measures 166.4 x 77.2 x 8.4mm and weighs 202g. It uses a polycarbonate material for the frame as well as the back cover. This phone is big, therefore it may not be easy to carry.

You’ll notice the thin bezels that spread evenly across the four sides of the phone. Instead of a notch, you’ll get a hole-punch camera that cuts out the top part of the display. The Unlock button is on the right, instead of on the left like in most phones. It’s located alongside the Volume keys.

The back cover is also something else. The cameras lie on the topmost left of the screen, instead of being in the middle. The LED flash, which consists of four smaller lamps, is located on the right.

You might wonder where the fingerprint reader is. Instead of strapped on the back, LG puts in on the right side of the phone. It’s a place where the Power/Unlock button usually resides in other phones.

This new placement may take some time to get used to. But afterward, it’s actually convenient to unlock the phone this way. Overall, LG K92 5G’s design is unusual but it’s still comfortable and ergonomic.

LG K92 5G Display

This device employs a 6.7-inch IPS LCD screen as its main display. With a screen-to-body ratio of 84.36 %, your viewing experience won’t be affected by distracting bezels. The resolution at 2400 x 1080 pixels constitutes the display as a Full HD one.

The display quality is exactly what you would expect in a mid-range phone. It is expansive and spacious, perfectly embodies LG’s FullVision concept. It’s important that the display is bright and sharp. Users upgrading from HD or HD+ screen will be pleasantly surprised at the quality. It’s almost impossible to notice imperfection like pixelated edges even when you look closely. The quality of the screen is still not a competition for a more expensive phone, however.

LG K92 5G promises an ultimate cinematic feel and it doesn’t disappoint. The size is perfect and its ratio, at 20:9, allows an immersive movie or gaming experience. However, there’s one slight distraction.

The punch hole camera can feel in the way most of the time. It’s hard to ignore if you aren’t familiar with it. Often, we feel like a notch is better. It gives an awkward feeling but it would be different for anybody. For buyers, consider whether the punch hole camera is going to bug you in the future.

LG K92 5G Camera

The quad-camera is one of the standout features of LG K92 5G. You’ll get four lenses, each with its own purpose. What stole our attention is the main lens at 64MP. Three other lenses are a 5MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth lens, and a 2MP macro lens. Meanwhile, the front camera is at 16MP and is able to take 4K videos.

The rear camera is designed to capture as many details as possible. At 64MP, expect to produce a pro-style picture in every of your snaps. The camera performs stunningly in many conditions, even when the lighting is less favorable. The camera is also AI-powered with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS).

For night photos, take advantage of the super LED flash. It is brighter than single type LEDs. The flash can reach and illuminate objects in greater range.

The rest of the lenses are stark differences in terms of quality. The Macro lens, especially, can be better because 2MP doesn’t give a lot of details. It’s especially hard to take a macro picture in a low-light situation. The depth camera is our next best favorite because it’s often useful.

Overall, the cameras on LG K92 5G spoils photography fans greatly. There are a lot of things you can do and tweak. If cameras are important to you, LG K92 5G’s quad-camera is worth considering. Our LG K92 5G review for the camera is generally favorable.

LG K92 5G comes with 128GB internal storage. For a phone this size, and has a camera with a massive resolution, it’s normal to expect gigantic storage space. We like how LG K92 5G fulfilled this.

The amount available to use is 99GB, which is still a lot. Users can consider not adding an SD card because often, it’s enough to just use the built-in storage. But if you need to upgrade, the SD card slot on this phone accepts up to 2GB of SD card.

LG equips this phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 CPU. The octa-core processor runs tasks with a clock rate of 2GHz. Aided with 6GB RAM, the setup is meant to handle rigorous phone activities well.

With all the amazing features, you can expect LG K92 5G to run on a powerhouse inside. The CPU comes with an integrated GPU Adreno 619L. No need to worry about laggy games, this phone allows moderate to higher 3D settings for users’ enjoyment.

It’s even better for casual tasks. Enjoy switching apps without any lags. The touchscreen receives input with great accuracy too. The big RAM and fast processor supports intense multitasking. Opening many apps doesn’t make the phone slow.

The phone is ready both for work or entertainment purposes. There’s a dedicated Google Assistant button to provide quick access to the smart assistant.

Android 10 is LG’s choice of the operating system. It comes with LG UX skin, as it is customary with phones from this brand. The user interface is welcoming and nice to look at. There’s no information on whether LG will provide updates for future versions.

However, we found there is too much bloatware on this phone. They installed various third-party apps on LG K92 5G. You can remove these apps later, but many buyers would be happy to not receive them on their new phone, to begin with. It spoils the clean experience this phone is trying to express via the LG UX.

To secure your phone, LG K92 5G provides users with a fingerprint unlock system. This phone is also very rich in other types of sensors. Apart from the common Accelerometer and Gyroscope, it also has a Heart rate sensor and Barometer. Additionally, this phone also supports hearing aid devices.

LG K92 5G is among few phones that are trying to utilize the new 5G network. The 5G support is one of this phone’s main attractions.

In reality, as of right now, it depends on your location. In big cities, you can enjoy faster upload and download speed. However, in many cases, 4G is faster than 5G. It’s not the phone’s fault, but rather the network infrastructure that’s not ready yet.

It’s still a good idea to buy a 5G phone like LG K92 5G. Buyers may want a phone that stays up to date when 5G becomes increasingly more common.

Beyond the mobile network, this phone also provides Wi-Fi, the latest version of Bluetooth, and GPS. Additionally, there’s also NFC support for mobile payment.

LG K92 5G comes with a 4,000mAh battery that promises 2 full days on a single charge. It’s a milestone you can reach if you are a casual user. More active phone-owners may expect less battery performance. The screen, mainly, is the culprit for a fast battery drain.

Do surf, watch movies, and browse apps for hours before the battery needs a recharge. In general, battery life is adequate. You can get an average of 8 hours of screen time before the phone needs to be plugged.

The phone’s charger is the highlight of this phone. Taking advantage of Qualcomm Quick Charge 4, it can refill the battery fuel to 80% in an hour. It’s a nice feature for busy people. What this phone doesn’t have is wireless charging.

Is LG K92 5G a good phone?

LG K92 5G is sold at $359, so it’s not in the affordable category. But looking at the specs it offers, it’s money well spent. A lot of things about this phone come in a massive amount, be it the display size, the camera resolution, or the storage space.

Our LG K92 5G review ends on a positive note. This is the phone where you’d like a high-end gadget but don’t want to spend an outrageous amount for it. Additionally, the 5G support ensures LG K92 5G to not become obsolete as the years go by. This phone can be a good investment.
