The Kazuna eTalk MyFlix smartphone was released in September 2020. It is marketed as a low-cost phone. With its affordable price, it’s safe to expect the specs would be low too.
We’re not wrong, as it turns out. The phone comes with an entry-level Snapdragon 215 CPU, has a mere 5MP camera, and a 2,100mAh battery. It also has a small-sized internal storage capacity.
This device looks like a good choice for basic users. Especially when it supports 4G, and has other useful connectivity features like Wi-Fi. Some people just want this type of simplicity.

Design
Kazuna eTalk MyFlix’s design reminded us of old iPhones, minus the Home button. It has a square-shaped screen, with bezels of equal size on the top and bottom. The phone itself is small and lightweight, measuring 138 x 67 x 9.5mm in dimension and 138g in weight.
As you might have spotted, Kazuna eTalk MyFlix comes with an old-school design. It seemed to ignore the notch-style front camera or edge-to-edge display. Nothing flash and fancy comes out of the design. Simplicity is something the manufacturer chooses instead.
Kazuna eTalk MyFlix is also very comfortable to hold due to its small size. You won’t be complaining about not being able to operate the phone single-handedly. Since it’s lightweight and small, it also slips into your pocket easily and doesn’t make your purse heavy.
The color option is only in black. The back cover is simple, and clearly missing a fingerprint reader. It is coated with a matte finish and looks somewhat elegant.
There’s not much to talk about durability or build quality, though. It’s a low-cost phone, so don’t expect it to hold a metal casing or glass frame. Everything is in plastic, and we don’t see protective measures like anti-scratch and water resistance.

Display
Kazuna eTalk MyFlix comes with a 5-inch HD display with 720p resolution. It’s also a bare minimum spec we’d call sufficient on a modern smartphone. Not the best, definitely, but at least you don’t have to deal with cracky pixels like in a WVGA screen.
The 5-inch size isn’t ideal. It feels too small. However, it’s worth noting that not everyone is a fan of gigantic displays. The 5-inch screen on Kazuna eTalk MyFlix could appeal to a certain group of consumers.
For us personally, we’re not big fans. The limitation in space equals less workspace or viewing space when using the phone. Videos are still somewhat watchable, but when it comes to editing a long text document, Kazuna eTalk MyFlix is frustrating.
We also had issues with brightness. This phone is not sun-friendly, as it will be hard to read anything outdoors. It also lacks sharpness in images with rich colors. The contrast is still all good, however.
To conclude, don’t have a lot of expectations with Kazuna eTalk MyFlix. It’s a low-cost phone. Therefore it makes sense that the manufacturer won’t put a better quality display.
Camera
This phone comes with a set of unexciting cameras. There’s a 5MP shooter on the back, along with an LED flash. On the other side, you can spot a selfie camera. This one is 2MP in resolution.
Resolutions don’t determine the quality of a camera. But naturally, the lower it is the less we can expect anything good from the lens. The same goes for cameras on Kazuna eTalk MyFlix. It is a decent shooter for capturing everyday moments, but it won’t make you a pro photographer.
There are some common issues with low-quality cameras. One of the examples is the lack of focus and shutter speed. Other than that, the lens is unreliable for night photos. Colors on photos can also appear washed out if the lighting is not perfect. Kazuna eTalk’s cameras suffer from all of these aforementioned problems.
The front camera is not good for taking vlog-style videos. It is too low in quality for that. This 2MP lens is better equipped for a smooth video call. For usual selfies, it is just average.
We almost forgot to review the LED flash. Kazuna eTalk MyFlix offers this feature alongside the back camera. It can be helpful to improve your pictures in low-light situations.

Storage
The 12GB internal storage on Kazuna eTalk MyFlix made us see a new perspective on phone memory. It is possible to go beyond the standard 16GB. With that being said, we think that it’s a very small capacity to adequately store your data. It won’t be enough ultimately.
For this, an external storage option exists on this phone. You will pay a bit more for an SD card. Luckily, today it’s cheap to acquire one, so you don’t have to worry about the budget. The maximum capacity you can install is 128GB. We deem this capacity as enough to store photos, music, and other types of data.
Performance
Kazuna eTalk MyFlix runs on a low-cost chipset called Qualcomm Snapdragon 215. It’s a quad-core CPU with a processing speed of 1.3GHz. Among other CPUs, this one has below-average performance. It’s only slightly better than Qualcomm’s cheapest smartphone core, the Snapdragon 210.
This CPU is coupled with 2GB RAM. We’re relieved that the manufacturer didn’t choose 1GB capacity. The CPU performance level is at a basic level by itself. Having RAM any lower than 2GB can make the phone even slower.
Putting this in mind, it’s clear how Kazuna eTalk MyFlix has a limited set of functionalities it can handle. The apps that run smoothly on this phone range from everyday chat apps to light social media. A data-heavy video-based social media is frustrating to operate here. The same situation applies to gaming.
The phone is prone to delays, hiccups, and glitches. Launching apps take a bit of time. The heavier the app, the longer you will wait. Typing on it with its touch keyboard, sometimes you experience how typing too fast can lag the screen.
For multitasking, this device can handle several apps to a point. If it is too much, the screen can freeze too. This is something to consider in this Kazuna eTalk MyFlix review. One of the biggest trade-offs is its limited performance.
Fortunately, we don’t have to settle for less when it comes to software. This phone runs on Android 10, which is a recent release. At least, Kazuna eTalk MyFlix can enjoy improvements on the software side that can help the performance.
The Android system on this phone is largely untouched. Coming with its vanilla UI, the OS gives the impression of a more spacious display. All thanks to its neat icon designs and the overall lighter tone. Notable Android features exist here by default, like Google apps and the smart assistant.
Connectivity
Kazuna eTalk MyFlix supports 4G and VoLTE. It promises crisp and clear calls with flexible prepaid plans by Verizon. The tech aside, the freedom of choices with your phone plan is something attractive about this phone.
This device also supports older bands like 4G. Therefore, you can use the phone while you are away in a remote area. As per today’s standard, Kazuna eTalk MyFlix also provides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as alternative means of getting connected.
The USB port uses the latest model, USB Type-C. It ensures faster data transfer and to some degree, faster charging time. Additionally, this phone also comes with GPS and a headphone jack. No NFC tech is available.
Battery
Kazuna eTalk MyFlix has a big claim over its 2,100mAh battery. It promises 18 hours of usage time with only one full charge. On standby, the phone may last a couple of days (114 hours.)
Theoretically, this claim sounds possible. After all, Kazuna eTalk MyFlix is not an energy-intense device. It could actually preserve energy thanks to its low RAM, low-res display, and Android 10.
In reality, battery performance is similar to other phones in the same range. Typically users would run out of battery by the end of the day. As for the charging, there’s no breakthrough capability like fast charging with Kazuna eTalk MyFlix.
Is the Kazuna eTalk MyFlix a good phone?
Kazuna eTalk MyFlix has a price tag of $64.99. This is a price that makes sense and affordable, in our opinion. The phone has low specs therefore the price naturally aligns. However, we have to admit that we wish several things could be better.
In this Kazuna eTalk MyFlix review, the main advantage of this phone is its simplicity and how it is user-friendly. On the other hand, the compromises come in the form of poor camera, low-res display, and patchy performance. It’s a phone well-suited for a very basic type of user.
